- Morning (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM): The Historical & Spiritual Hills
8:30 AM – Namirembe Cathedral (Protestant): Explore the oldest cathedral in Uganda (1890), known for its striking red-roof architecture and historical significance in the Buganda kingdom.
Short boda-boda ride down to the city center.
9:30 AM – Lubiri Palace & Kabaka’s Lake: Visit the perimeter of the Buganda King’s Palace. Nearby, see Kabaka’s Lake, a man-made lake commissioned by a Buganda king in the 1880s. A peaceful spot.
10:30 AM – Boda-boda to Kasubi Tombs (UNESCO World Heritage Site): This is a must-see. The royal burial grounds of the Kabakas (Kings) of Buganda. The main thatched-building architecture is awe-inspiring.

- Mid-Day (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM)
12:30 PM – Walk through the Old Taxi Park & Nakasero Market: Immerse yourself in the organized chaos of Kampala’s transport hub. Then, dive into the sensory overload of Nakasero Market colorful fruits, vegetables, spices, and local chatter. It’s the city’s kitchen.
1:15 PM – Lunch at a Local Eatery:
Option A (Street Food): Rolex (egg omelette rolled in a chapati) from a street vendor.
Option B (Local Restaurant): A buffet lunch at a place like Cafe Javas or a local kikomando (beans & chapati) spot.

2:30 PM – Uganda National Mosque (Gaddafi National Mosque) on Old Kampala Hill: Take a short boda-boda up. Even if you don’t enter, the exterior is magnificent. For a small fee, you can climb the minaret for the best 360-degree view of Kampala.
3:30 PM – Walk down to the Buganda Road Craft Market:
This is the perfect place for souvenirs. Haggling is expected. Find baskets (like the famous Ugandan basket bag), fabrics, jewelry, wood carvings, and paintings.
4:15 PM – Final Stop: Acacia Avenue / Kisementi:
Wind down at one of Kampala’s popular social hubs. Enjoy a well-deserved coffee at Cafe’ Java or a cold drink, and watch the city’s lively expat and professional crowd mingle.
